Full Job Description

  • Experience working within a care environment preferably working with children and young people with learning disabilities, their families, and carers.

  • Have a positive approach and 'can do' attitude.

  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to work a variation of shift patterns.

  • Driving License with Access to Car and business insurance

    NPT Pops allows children to enjoy a safe, meaningful experience and an opportunity has arisen for a Community Short Breaks Worker to join our dedicated, friendly, warm and professional team.

    The Community Short Breaks Project provides support to children and young people with disabilities. This includes support to access community-based activities in small groups, activities at the project base or caring for a child in their own home (domiciliary care).

    We are ready to support and develop you to build on the experience you already have. We would love to hear from you if you want to help change lives by working at the forefront of child-centered care.

    As the service runs after school and on Saturdays, this role is also an alternative to weekly 9 to 5 style working.

    How you'll help to create brighter futures

    Community Short Breaks Workers work directly with children and young people in this service. You will make a difference by:
  • Helping young people with disabilities have a presence in the community.

  • Supporting young people with their needs whilst providing emotional support personal care and maintaining a clean safe and nurturing environment.

  • Helping our young people learn and have fun in safe settings.

  • Helping them in all aspects of their daily lives and supporting their health and happiness.

  • Providing a safe environment where they can enjoy time, learn and have fun in a safe setting.
