As a Commercial Technical Officer your main responsibilities will be:
This role sits within the Strategic Commercial Team of CSM which has been established specifically to develop and deliver its commercial strategy working collaboratively with customers and existing commercial teams to optimise value for money and innovating where possible through effective market insight. CSM offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference in supporting the successful delivery of the aims of the Portfolio. Key aspects of the role include:
+ Providing wide-ranging commercial support to the Portfolio stakeholders from advice / guidance on routes to market, commercial strategy development, tendering processes and, where appropriate, contract management.
+ Supporting the development and maintenance of the CSM commercial pipeline and associated commercial strategies working closely with subject matter experts and other commercial colleagues both within MoD.
+ Supporting and influencing the development and delivery of complex end-to-end procurements ensuring innovation where possible whilst adhering to commercial policy, processes, operating procedures and category strategies (where they exist),
+ Through market analysis, develop an effective understanding of the market and the category strategies in support building effective commercial strategies for all commercial activity and to innovate where possible;
+ Providing a co-ordination role in the development of relevant Statement of Requirements ensuring they are cohesive and fit for purpose to drive optimum value for money from the market
+ Building effective and sustained relationships across the Portfolio, MoD, Other Government Departments, Crown Commercial Services and broader industry

+ Experience of managing end to end sourcing in a large-scale complex or high-risk programme.
+ Experience of working across a diverse and complex operating model in supporting the development and implementation of effective commercial strategies
+ Experience of supporting the co-ordination of the development of Statement of Requirements
+ Experience of supporting the development and delivery of complex Invitations to Tender, negotiations and contract that may require non-standard/ bespoke conditions
+ Category management experience in software, licensing & IT professional services.
+ Experience of building positive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups; able to understand and manage multiple perspectives, build consensus and influence stakeholders.
+ Eligible for SC Clearance
Desirable:
+ Experience of working in the public sector
+ Working understanding of Oracle Fusion or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning systems
