Full Job Description

The role would suit a candidate who has previous paralegal or quasi paralegal experience and who is looking to become more involved in commercial property transactions. Equally the role may suit someone currently working in residential conveyancing who is keen to make the move to commercial property. Appropriate training and mentoring would be provided.

Being a confident communicator will be a necessary skill as you will engage with clients on a regular basis.

Our client base

We hold a diverse portfolio of clients and carry out top tier quality work, along with having a fantastic reputation for negotiating and investigating on behalf of our clients, minimising risk as far as possible and progressing the transaction forward.

Our Commercial property department is renowned for its high level of advice and service and has extensive experience with a broad range of commercial property matters, including landlord and tenant, lease renewals, lease negotiations and acquisitions, and disposals of freehold or leasehold properties. The team deal with a broad range of clients from small to medium sized companies through to international enterprises.

Relevant experience

  • Commercial Property experience, which could include experience as a commercial property secretary who has undertaken quasi paralegal tasks, or someone with experience in residential property. Good candidates outside this range will also be considered;

  • A keen interest in a paralegal career in Commercial Property law, which we will support with mentoring and training;

  • The ability to communicate in a non-technical way and to be professional; and

  • The ability to work well within a close-knit team and to also work well using your own initiative when required.

  • Key skills and behaviours

  • A confident communicator with the ability to engage with varied client audiences;

  • Good written communication skills with strong attention to detail;

  • Proactive and comfortable taking initiative when faced with new challenges;

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities;

  • Experience of using the land registry portal, SDLT returns, Land registry applications, Companies House registrations, and completion statements.

  • Demonstrate a high level of discretion and confidentiality at all times; and

  • Be an effective team player and bring energy and passion to the role!
