Full Job Description

We are seeking a committed and highly motivated individual to support the Assets commercial lettings team.

You will be pivotal to the delivery and development of our commercial and industrial lettings process.

Reporting to the Commercial and Industrial Estates Officer, duties include assisting with the general management of the Council's portfolio of commercial and industrial properties, management of the void property process, arranging and undertaking routine property inspections, and working with the repairs call centre to ensure repairs are properly reported and completed.

You will be responsible for:

  • Management of the void property process Routine inspections of property and enforcement of tenancy obligations Oversight of the repairs reporting and management process for commercial and industrial properties Updating of the lease database and performance data Assisting the Commercial and Industrial Estates Officer in conducting site visits and surveys Monitoring and reporting rental income in conjunction with the finance team Identifying and proposing areas for service improvement Undertaking all corporate requirements on health & safety, equal opportunities, data protection, safeguarding, risk management and financial regulations Assisting in the development of processes and procedures for the management of the Councils portfolio of commercial and industrial properties Performance monitoring and risk management using the corporate performance management system., Tamworth Borough Council is proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer.     We are looking for an individual with a can-do approach who will be able to work on their own initiative as well as in a team and who can communicate effectively with members of the Council, the general public-contractors and colleagues whilst working in a busy environment.

    Experience in dealing with a wide range of customers and some general field experience in commercial and industrial property lettings, along with a good knowledge of Orchard or other housing database systems is preferred, although not essential, as full training will be given.

    To apply for the position, you must have proven knowledge of Microsoft Office and other databases., Public facing roles are covered by the Fluency Duty as outlined in section 78 of the Immigration Act 2016, to serve the public it is vital that those working in public facing roles can communicate in English with members of the public receiving local authority services.

    This is a hybrid working contract, there is a requirement for some of duties to be carried out at home and some on site. Site attendance will constitute more than 40% of available working time.
