Full Job Description

We are currently partnering with a top UK law firm who are looking for a 3-5 PQE litigation associate to join their well-regarded commercial and banking disputes team. This role offers the chance to work alongside seasoned professionals with extensive expertise in complex financial markets disputes and multi-jurisdictional litigation.

As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with leading clients across financial services, retail, media, industrial, and manufacturing sectors. Responsibilities include providing strategic advice on contractual disputes, warranty claims, post M&A issues, and asset recovery, as well as handling disputes involving derivatives, structured products, hedging arrangements, loan facilities, trade finance, financial restructurings, and shareholder disputes.

  • Qualified solicitor with 2-5 years of PQE in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to navigate complex multi-jurisdictional matters.

  • Experience in financial markets disputes, asset tracing, fraud litigation, and regulatory investigations (including anti-corruption matters) is not mandatory but advantageous.

    THE SSQ DIFFERENCE

  • We are proud to have developed a recruitment consultancy that stands apart from its competitors in every sense:

Our approach is a progressive one. SSQ has consultants working on a full-time, part-time and flexi-time basis. We practise what we preach.

All of our staff are invited to become stakeholders in the business. They are compensated according to the overall success of the company as well as their individual success.

A candidate's career should come before our commission. It does.

If we can work with you, we will do so, applying our utmost dedication and commitment. If we cannot assist you, we will say so, promptly and frankly.

We recognise that a candidate only has one real chance to approach a law firm or a company. Getting it right is crucial. We strive to get each approach right.

There are no sliding scales in our recruitment fees. We only offer full refunds.

We care about your choices. After all, our future is inextricably tied to yours., SSQ IN THE COMMUNITY
We believe that organisations in the twenty-first century have a moral responsibility not only for the welfare of their employees but also a moral duty to society at large. Business has the resources and power to make a difference to humankind. At SSQ we wish to contribute our share towards making that difference.

An organisation that pursues and values short-term profits above all else, although successful in generating wealth, does little to assist the personal growth of its staff and even less to the development of our communities and environment.

We therefore see it as our responsibility to create a wealth that enriches the human spirit and serves our shared values as human beings.

At SSQ, amongst other initiatives, we commit to:
  • Match any charitable contribution made by a member of staff.

  • Support and encourage our staff to work (fully paid) one day a quarter for a charity of their choice.

  • Employ at any given time at least one school leaver or an unemployed individual so that that person may have a better opportunity of long-term employment.

  • Donate a percentage of our profits annually to charities nominated by our staff.

  • We believe that business has the ability to build a better world.

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

  • Opportunity for professional growth and development within a renowned legal firm.

  • Exposure to high-profile clients and complex legal matters in commercial and banking disputes.

  • Excellent work culture promoting collaboration, mentorship, and a healthy work-life balance.

  • This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated associate seeking career advancement with a leading UK law firm known for its supportive culture.
