Commercial Analyst

We are seeking dynamic, forward-thinking individuals who can bridge the commercial, trading and sales aspects of our business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the commercial solutions team and be directly involved in an array of different commercial projects, helping to build a wide knowledge base in energy supply, the Net Zero transition, wholesale markets and sustainability solutions.

There will be a focus on critically assessing large data sets and contracts, commercial management, advancing Brook Green Supply's sustainability offering, providing knowledge and expertise to internal sales teams, ensuring key client accounts are closely managed and sustainably growing the business.,

• Create bespoke commercial solutions to assist with navigating a challenging energy landscape.


• Assess commercial opportunities in energy transition projects.


• Creating, developing and managing new supply, risk management, pricing products and channels.


• Maximising P&L in products, services and offers, whilst mitigating and managing ongoing risks to minimise P&L slippage.


• Assessing and quantifying commercial risk on a portfolio and deal specific level.


• Work constructively with external clients towards their Net Zero transition and sustainability solutions.


• Develop knowledge of wholesale energy markets and pricing.


• Managing and facilitating complicated, large deals alongside account managers.


• Become an internal knowledge centre for the UK's energy transition, developing expertise in exciting new sectors.


• Analysing energy consumption, generation and storage data to identify trends and potential opportunities.


• Mine, aggregate, analyse data and produce relevant reports and dashboards.


• Ad-hoc tasks as required by management.

• Ability to communicate and present complex commercial agreements and data sets.


• Understanding of wholesale trading markets, non-commodities, forecasting and analytics.


• Developing highly effective business relationships.


• Management of commercial projects.


• Data analysis and management in Excel, Python and SQL server.


• Regulatory frameworks for both the Gas and Electricity markets.
  
  Some understanding of the energy transition and future industry plans.


• Confident communicator who can engage with a range of stakeholders.


• Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office.


• Some experience building data models in Excel/SQL/Python.


• Previous experience working within an office-based, analytical focused position.


• Comfortable working with large data sets.


• Highly desirable if you have completed a degree closely related to Energy Sciences, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Energy, etc, Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.


• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment and able to quickly respond to changing business needs and demands.


• Consistently high levels of attention to detail and a naturally inquisitive attitude.


• Self-starter who takes the initiative to not just complete tasks but expand upon them.


• Proactive approach to problem solving and idea creation to form solutions.


• Able to prioritise and manage your own workload with minimal supervision.


• A conscientious individual who takes pride in their work.


• Initiative to take on duties or tasks to further your learning and improve business process.
