Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Turning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC turning machines to produce high-quality precision components according to customer specifications.,
- Program, set up, and operate CNC turning machines (XYZ Proturn and Doosan Lynx) to produce components with tight tolerances.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining operations.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling setups for each job.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure conformance to quality standards and adjust machine settings as needed.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise machining processes and improve efficiency.
Engineering apprenticeship preferred. - Proven experience as a CNC or Manual Turner or similar role in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Milling experience also welcome
- Proficiency in programming, setting up, and operating CNC turning machines specifically using Prototrak and Fanuc controls .
- Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CNC machining processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex machining problems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
