Full Job Description

As the successful post holder, you will work collaboratively within the Research Team, offering comprehensive laboratory and data support for various clinical research studies, including genomics. In addition to laboratory and data responsibilities, you may undertake a range of clinical duties and will demonstrate a commitment to promoting, integrating and embedding research across the Trust.,

  • Overseeing the recording, monitoring, maintenance and reporting of research-related data to uphold standards of data quality and accuracy. Compliance with ICH-Good Clinical Practice (GCP), EU clinical trial regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and Trust policies will be paramount.

  • Conduct daily clinical trial activities, such as participant recruitment, sample and data collection in line with your competencies and experience, whilst adhering to study protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with logistical issues for the set-up and running of the study to ensure the wellbeing and safety of participants and staff, in accordance with research regulation.

  • Provide administrative support to the research team for all research trials on the research team portfolio, from trial feasibility to archiving.

  • Process data relating to individual research studies including data input, resolving data queries, verifying source data and accuracy.

  • In conjunction with the Research Nurse (RN)/ Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP)/ Registered Midwife (RM), identify suitable participants eligible for the study/clinical trial; screen and recruit research participants using detailed knowledge of the protocols as appropriate.

  • Take and process clinical trial samples, following appropriate training, (e.g. venepuncture, centrifuge training) as per protocol and specific laboratory requirements.
