Full Job Description

This is a fantasic opportunity to join the East OPMH team as Practice Lead covering a period of Maternity leave ending 31st July 2025. The practice lead posts are developing within older adult services and essential in providing high quality clincial care to patients and their families/carers. This post holder will be pivotal in quality improvement and upholding high level clinical care standards., The Practice Leader will champion the implementation of the Community Mental Health Framework (CMHF). The role will focus on the engagement and transition of teams along with forging local relationships to support CMHF implementation. The role will work collaboratively with all members of the CMHF programme team and be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards within their assigned teams. They will ensure that all individuals receiving care and treatment from DPT services do so in line with Trust strategic objectives (safe, timely, personalised, and sustainable and recovery focused) and are safeguarded from any harm.

The Practice Lead will support the Team Manager in overseeing clinical supervision and practice throughout the team. They will be integral in ensuring quality and care standards are upheld to a high level.

  • A professional health qualification to degree level or equivalent

  • Training to level 3 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff

  • Evidence of commitment to life-long learning and continuing professional development, Post Graduate qualification relevant to specialism eg CBT, NMP, DBT, etc.

  • Management qualification

  • Leadership or quality improvement qualification, Understanding of research principles

  • 3 years post qualifying work, including community and/or inpatient health settings

  • Risk assessment/management

  • Clinical leadership, Teaching, training and/or supervision of clinical staff

  • Experience of working in a senior or advanced clinical role, Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage with large groups who may be antagonistic and/or distressed. This will apply to persons who use the service and their carers/relatives and professional staff groups

  • Ability to support junior staff: professionally and academically, promoting their personal growth and developing their competencies

  • Ability to be mobile across a geographical area
