Full Job Description

Your role is to support the continued development of high-quality services to meet the holistic needs of children and young people with Autism and ADHD.
You will support in the development and implementation of the ADHD service within community paediatrics
You will demonstrate high level of specialist knowledge and expertise providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers.
By utilising your leadership skills as the Clinical Lead for Neurodevelopmental Nurses, you will ensure that the service provides support that is integrated and informed by the latest evidence and provided at the right time for families.
Your primary purpose is to improve the health outcomes of children, young people and families within Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) by leading and managing the Neurodevelopmental Nursing service
You will be expected to lead on the clinical and professional development of the Neurodevelopmental Nursing Team across the BNSSG footprint.
You will be responsible for engaging with communities and services within your locality, including schools, to build social capital and community networks. You will embed Sirona's vision of supporting communities socially and economically to tackle the impact of child poverty, reduce inequalities and add social value.
You will be directly responsible to the Lead for Autism assessment service., · To work in partnership with the operational leads to ensure that local services maintain high standards and conform to national regulatory frameworks.
· To work with Operational Leads, community paediatrics, and Lead for Autism Assessment service to identify and prioritise areas for service development including opportunities to income generate and deliver services in an innovative way which delivers value to service users and commissioners.
· Be responsible for practitioner development and performance, supporting your team leads, particularly when there are complex issues.
· Responsible for high professional standards and best practice across BNSSG, ensuring professionals have access to supervision and support.
Planning and organisation

· Support the coordinated development of local high quality service user feedback processes which will include co- production.
· Work in conjunction with other professional leads within Sirona care & health to develop an integrated working culture that promotes the development of high-quality clinical standards within a multidisciplinary framework and a 'Think Family' approach.
· Demonstrate commitment to continuously improving outcomes, tackling health inequalities, and delivering value for money and prudence within the locality.
Performance Management
· Respond to local issues that impact on performance and service delivery by gathering information and intelligence and working in partnership with the Operational Lead and Head of Service to develop an action plan and put measures in place to improve clinical practice and service delivery.
· Identify future opportunities to improve local cost effectiveness and contribute to plans to meet long term savings targets.
· Use local data and performance activity, including audits to inform and plan service improvement.
· In partnership with the operational managers, support the compilation of local board level reports regarding service provision and performance, ensuring clear identification of risks and corrective actions.
· Deliver presentations on local performance and work plans to a variety of forums as required.
Leadership & workforce development
· Provide strong and inspiring leadership which promotes a good understanding of Sirona's values, aims and objectives. Communicate frequently and well to keep all staff involved, aware of 'the big picture' and what is required of them
· Lead and promote awareness of national and local polices/ guidelines that relate to the support of children and young people with Autism and ADHD and their parents/carers
· Line manage Sirona Children's Neurodevelopmental Nurses across BNSSG
· Engender a service culture of compassion, reflective practice, learning, development and growth
· In partnership with the Autism Assessment lead and lead for community paediatrics, support the service development across BNSSG. This will embed an effective neurodiversity pathway focussed on holistic assessment, early intervention and the prevention of modifiable risks & promotion of positive protective factors to improve child outcomes
· Demonstrate effective team working, acting as a role model and promoting cohesive teams that maintain collaborative and constructive working relationships
· Working with the Autism Assessment lead, lead for community paediatrics , Medical Director, and the Heads of Services on specific project streams, and successfully deliver agreed outcomes within prescribed timescales. This will include supporting team leads to organise and run specific projects and pilots.
· Support the appointment and management of staff according to relevant policies and procedures.
· Contribute to the design and implementation of local workforce plans that optimise the use of resources in response to the needs of service users within the locality and follow service wide standards and procedures.
· Within the locality, promote all health, safety and welfare issues, ensuring staff are aware of and observe statutory and other requirements to achieve safe working practice. Ensure that responsibilities designated in the Health and Safety policy are fulfilled - including suitable and sufficient assessments of potential Health & Safety risks within area of responsibility.
· Identify any training and development needs at a locality level and organise appropriate development opportunities that utilise internal and external expertise.
· Work in partnership with Sirona's learning and development team and, UWE Bristol to support both undergraduate and postgraduate students to have a positive and effective practice experience that meets all NMC requirements.
Service / Business Development
· Adopt a creative approach to local service development and design, actively encouraging and welcoming ideas from all staff, ensuring quality feedback and action planning.
· Maintain high regard for service user feedback and quality of experience ensuring children's and parent/ carers' voices are taken into account in developing services. Embed processes for effective service user feedback that meets local need.
· Contribute to tendering preparation as required.
· Ensure local service delivery embeds the principles of Sirona's vision for Neurodevelopmental Nursing services and transformation plans while offering place-based care that meets local need.
· Remain abreast of relevant legislation and trends within the Health and Social care and Education sectors and identify implications for local service delivery.
Partnership Working
· Commitment to co-production of service improvements and transformation with children/young people and their families within locality and as a system wide approach.
· Foster an understanding of the value of support, assessment and therapeutic interventions (when appropriate) and maintain good working relationships with a range of local partners, early years, educational settings, social care the voluntary sector, secondary and primary care, local community interest / service user groups, individual service users and their relatives, external regulators, staff members, trade unions and potential business partners.
· The role involves developing strong partnerships with local services across a broad range of organisations and individuals to:
o Provide information and neurodiversity expertise.
o Influence and motivate others regarding the adoption of new arrangements.
o Contribute to developing a response to any local concerns or complaints.
o Support the development of effective interfaces across services, establishing strong and collaborative working relationships between services and professions that exist in the locality.
o Represent and promote the organisation and the expertise and capabilities of services within the locality.
Research and Development
· Encourage the creation of a research and development culture that supports and promotes research within the service and maximises the opportunities to be achieved by working with colleagues in Higher Education Institutes in developing research portfolios and joint publications of completed work.
· Support the development and implementation of quality standards, ensuring effective systems are in place to monitor the local delivery of standards, and communicate the outcomes of audit processes.
· Maximise opportunities for staff to undertake and contribute to research and development activities.
· To actively participate in the research and development agenda, focusing on the improvement to services embracing a co-productive approach.
