Full Job Description

Are you passionate about quality improvement and patient safety? St Luke's Hospice is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Governance Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the heart of our mission to provide the best possible care, ensuring that our clinical governance practices are top-notch and always improving., Lead Best Practices: Ensure our clinical governance arrangements are in line with the best practices across all clinical areas.
Data Analysis: Dive into qualitative and quantitative data to drive improvements from our governance and clinical audit projects.
PSIRF Compliance: Help us meet the requirements of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
Standards Implementation: Implement and audit compliance with national and local clinical standards and guidelines.
Quality Tools: Use Quality Improvement tools to show our ongoing learning and improvement.
Service Development: Develop new services and pathways through Quality Improvement work.
Leadership & Strategy
Be the Right Hand: Deputize for the Head of Clinical Governance in daily operations and strategy execution.
Develop KPIs: Assist in creating key performance indicators to drive our strategic goals.
Strategic Contribution: Contribute to our organizational strategy and develop effective systems and procedures.
Governance & Quality Assurance
Framework Development: Support the evolution of our Quality Governance Framework.
Audit Management: Oversee the delivery and actions from our clinical audit schedule.
CQC Compliance: Ensure we gather and document the necessary evidence for CQC compliance.
Audit & Risk Management
Design & Coordinate Audits: Lead the creation and execution of clinical audit programs, ensuring timely completion.
Compile Reports: Produce detailed reports for relevant committees.
Monitor Standards: Keep a close eye on audits related to patient care and nursing practices.
Incident & Complaint Management
Review & Analyse: Examine trends in clinical incidents and complaints, ensuring thorough investigations.
Just Culture: Apply a 'Just Culture' approach to incident reviews, focusing on learning and improvement.
Identify Training Needs: Spot training opportunities from incidents and complaints and ensure effective follow-through., Impactful Work: Make a real difference in the quality of care we provide.

Proven experience in Clinical Governance and organizational strategy.
Management experience and a track record in clinical audit.
Skilled in researching, evaluating, and implementing service changes.
Proficient in IT systems (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of quality assurance frameworks, risk management, and regulatory bodies.
Educated to postgraduate level or equivalent experience; Registered Nurse/AHP preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong time management, organizational, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage work pressures, make sound judgments, and handle difficult conversations.
