Full Job Description

  • Support the Manager in the implementation of all policies, procedures and business objectives.

  • Act as the Lead Nurse on the Day Shift and Liaise with the Home Manager across a range of operational activities.

  • Assuming responsibility for managing the Home during the manager's absences

  • Planning Rota's, Care Plans, Assessments and staff appraisals

    To be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council

  • You have a Degree in Adult, Learning Disability or Mental Health Nursing.

  • Must have 1 year of experience in a similar role as a Unit Manager / Deputy Manager / Night Manager / Clinical Lead.

  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to plan allocate and delegate work appropriately and the ability to play a leadership role in contributing to improving and maintaining the best practice of care in the home.

  • A professional attitude is essential with excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • 2 x 12-hour & 2 x 8-hour shifts with a mix of nursing & supernumerary

  • Salary is £50,000 per year with some oncall duties


  • The Brief Leading a care team by working as the nurse-qualified deputy manager in a small dementia and elderly nursing care home offering care to elderly residents, which is located in Gravesend.

    Key Details
  • The role is 50% clinical-based and 50% supernumerary

  • Some duties expected are; rotas, staff management, typical nursing duties, clinical leadership, care plans and training other staff

  • You must hold an active NMC pin with an Adult, Mental Health or Learning Disability Nursing Qualification

  • Caring for patients requiring palliative, dementia, nursing, residential & elderly care.

  • Must have an active NMC PIN and a Nursing Qualification

  • To include some weekend work as well as some on-call duties

  • The salary is £50,000 per year

  • The working hours are 40 per week contract on the day shift

  • Shifts are 2 x 12 hours and 2 x 8 hours per week
