Full Job Description

Two Rivers Medical Centre in Ipswich has an opportunity for a cleaner to join our busy practice support team, on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 6pm to 9pm, to maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment within the doctor's surgery.
The main duties include:

  • Clean and disinfect patient areas, including consultation rooms, examination rooms, waiting areas, and consultation rooms.

  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, chairs, and medical equipment,

  • Perform regular sanitization of high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches,

  • Ensure that all restrooms are cleaned sanitised and restocked with necessary supplies.

  • Empty and dispose of waste bins, ensuring proper segregation and disposal of medical and general waste according to Practice Protocols.

  • Sweep, vacuum and mop floors in all areas of the Practice.

  • Ensure floors are free of spills and hazards to prevent accidents.

  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and notify the Practice Operations Manager when supplies need to be re-ordered.

  • Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.

  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required,

  • Adhere to cleaning protocols and procedures to ensure a sterile environment.

  • Report any maintenance issues, such as broken fixtures or plumbing problems, to the Practice Operation Manager.

  • Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on cleaning techniques and infection control practices.

  • Maintain knowledge of proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

    Previous experience in a commercial/office cleaning is essential to be considered for this role as well as reliability and attention to detail.
