Full Job Description

Working within our Housekeeping team, you will be responsible for cleaning the school to a high standard.

Cleaners are responsible for undertaking the cleaning of designated areas within the School to ensure that the area is kept in an appropriate state for the required building activities.

Responsibilities
The key tasks of all cleaners include but are not limited to:

  • Various cleaning tasks including washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning,

  • emptying of litter bins, polishing and dusting of the designated areas, (which
    may include toilets and shower areas), and fixtures and fittings, to the
    appropriate standards.

  • Appropriate use of equipment, including power equipment. All duties must be

  • carried out to comply with The Health and Safety at Work Act; Acts of
    Parliament, statutory and company policy and regulations and other legal
    requirements.

  • Bed changing and the movement of items of furniture.


  • To perform other such duties as may be reasonably requested by the

  • Housekeeper.

  • To report maintenance or furniture issues to the Housekeeper. This will include

  • any defects and breakages.

  • To report any concerns about pupils to the appropriate member of staff.


  • To relieve and assist in other areas in certain circumstances.


  • To attend to and take all necessary action, statutory and otherwise in the event

  • of accident, fire, loss, theft, lost property or damage and complete the
    necessary reports.

  • To liaise with the Housekeeper to ensure that she is kept updated on

  • availability and holiday requests.

  • To attend meetings and training courses as requested.

    4 hours per day: Start time 8.30am/9am
    3 hours per day: Start time from 5pm

    Alternatively, hours can be combined to work a 7 hour shift starting between 5am and 6am. (negotiable)., 30 days leave per annum (pro rata for part time)
