Full Job Description

We are a popular community minded primary special school located in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham; a stone's throw away from Sutton Park. Having the right people join our team is really important to us. We are looking to appoint a Class Teacher who is a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative practitioner. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of working with children with special educational needs to join our friendly, caring, dedicated team of staff and multi-disciplinary colleagues. Early Career Teachers are also welcome to apply.

All of the amazing children who attend our school have an Education and Health Care Plan. Our school educates 90 children with complex and multiple needs across 9 classes. Our children may have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and/or a diagnosis of an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). Some children have additional needs including visual impairment and hearing impairment. We aim to underpin our curriculum delivery through continually developing our communication work so that the children can access their learning in a way personalised to their needs.

We are set in expansive grounds with more outside space than you might first think and there are plentiful opportunities for outside and creative learning. We are very proud of our school community and a have a full and varied programme of parental engagement events where our inspirational children have the opportunity to share their work.

The Bridge School is part of Forward Education Trust (FET), an established and developing MAT of 7 special schools in Birmingham and Sandwell, including a new school in Solihull.
