Full Job Description

To provide inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children attending MCCP Ltd Settings and to maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment. To manage the provision, including staffing levels in collaboration with the Business Manager and Board of Trustees.,

  • To manage the care and preschool education of children accessing our services and to use knowledge of child development to ensure that all children are offered first class care and high-quality learning and play activities.

  • To prepare for and undertake annual CIW/Estyn inspections and comply with all statutory guidelines, requirements and regulations including prepare annual Quality of Care report, Self-Assessment of Service Statement, setting evaluation report and setting development plans.

  • To be a designated safeguard lead and therefore record and report any concerns in regard to child protection/safeguarding in line with MCCP procedures and statutory requirements.

  • To be the designated ALNCO and ensure staff support these children effectively.

  • To take childcare enquiries/bookings and record any enquiries in relevant paperwork and ensure all children's paperwork is kept updated throughout their time with MCCP Ltd.

  • To liaise with parents/cares about children's needs, ensuring that the setting has an accurate overview of, and commitment to partnership with parents. Ensure monthly newsletters are circulated.

  • To ensure key working practices for children are in place and that informative, accurate and up-to-date records, including progress and any behavioural or developmental reports are kept.

  • To promote the use of the Welsh language and ensure a bilingual delivery across both settings.

  • To carry out regular supervisions and annual appraisals in collaboration with trustees and to organise staff rotas, authorise, monitor and manage sickness and holiday leave for 10 FTE employees.

  • To be responsible for MCCP Ltd.'s Staff files, ensuring any relevant training is undertaken and DBS checks are completed and updated.

  • To lead, motivate and manage MCCP Ltd staff and ensure regular staff meetings are undertaken, actions followed, and issues brought to the Trustee Board as necessary.

  • To report to the Trustee Board and attend trustee meetings as and when required.

  • To provide an effective communication channel between the Trustee Board and staff

  • To assist the Business Manager with budgeting as and when required.

  • To manage the Health and Safety of each setting on daily basis and complete an annual audit.

  • Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the role as deemed necessary by the Board of Trustees

  • To promote, implement and become accredited Curiosity Approach Settings, Developing and maintaining effective professional relationships within MCCP Ltd statutory and voluntary agencies that work with children and their families/carers as well as other agencies, community groups and local businesses/employers as appropriate to the development of the project.

  • At least a level 3 childcare qualification recognised on the Social Care Wales Qualification Framework and at least a level 3 Playwork qualification or a smaller award as recognised on The Playwork Education and Training Council for Wales List of Required Qualifications for Playwork (or any lists which supersedes this).

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of working in a childcare setting

  • Information Technology skills particularly Microsoft Office and Sage Accounting

  • An understanding of the value of play in children's lives

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Good oral/written communication skills

  • The ability to work on own initiative

  • Good organisational skills

  • The ability to lead, motivate and manage a team

  • Desirable Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate in both Welsh and English

  • Experience of working with volunteers

  • Experience of working (paid/voluntary) in the voluntary sector

  • Understanding of the issues affecting disadvantaged / rurally isolated families

  • Experience of community development work

  • Understanding of the importance of social inclusion of all children and young people

  • An understanding of budget management and general finance matters

    Machynlleth Community Children's Project Ltd (MCCP Ltd.) was established in 1992 and is a not-for-profit charity delivering high quality bi-lingual childcare to 43 (19 + 24) children a day, aged 9 months to 11 years in 2 settings in Machynlleth. We are currently working towards being accredited in the Curiosity Approach and are looking to recruit a Settings Manager to work equally in both settings.

    Bydd y rôl wedi'i lleoli dros 2 leoliad ym Machynlleth ac mae'r gallu i deithio rhyngddynt yn hanfodol.

    Sefydlwyd Prosiect Plant Cymunedol Machynlleth Cyf (MCCP Ltd) ym 1992 ac mae'n elusen ddielw sy'n darparu gofal plant dwyieithog o ansawdd uchel i 43 (19 + 24) o blant y dydd, rhwng 9 mis ac 11 oed mewn 2 leoliad ym Machynlleth. Ar hyn o bryd rydym yn gweithio tuag at gael ein hachredu yn y Dull Chwilfrydedd ac rydym yn awyddus i recriwtio Rheolwr Lleoliadau i weithio'n gyfartal yn y ddau leoliad.

    Pwrpas swydd:

    Darparu cyfleoedd chwarae a dysgu cynhwysol i bob plentyn sy'n mynychu Lleoliadau MCCP Ltd a chynnal amgylchedd diogel, ysgogol a phleserus. Rheoli'r ddarpariaeth, gan gynnwys lefelau staffio mewn cydweithrediad â'r Rheolwr Busnes a Bwrdd yr Ymddiriedolwyr.
