Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a low intensity practitioner (Educational Mental Health Practitioner or Child Wellbeing Practitioner - EMHP/CWP) to deliver short term interventions in schools and colleges throughout the localities to those young people demonstrating need for support with their emotional health and wellbeing. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our team who have been successful in their training and are wanting to embed their learning in the Black Country.

The Education Mental Health Practitioner/Child Wellbeing Practitioner role will:

  • Work closely alongside a team of mental health professionals delivering a wide range of evidence informed interventions

  • Develop and practice evidence-based skills under supervision to work directly with children, young people and families.

  • Develop and practice evidence-based skills to carry out holistic and child-centered mental health assessments, including risk assessments.

    Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1yr 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' or 'Child Wellbeing Practitioner course.

  • Ability to carry out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children

  • Ability to work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness within the staff group

  • Knowledge of educational environments

  • Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others

  • Must be a car driver


  • Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of the functional operation of specialist CAMHS teams

  • Experience of monitoring and recording outcome measures for children's emotional wellbeing, 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children: 1 year (required)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • HEE 1yr 'Education Child Wellbeing Practitioner course (required)

  • Knowledge of educational environments (required)

  • Car Driving Licence (required)

  • completion HEE 1yr 'Education M Health Practitioner Course (required)
