Full Job Description

The role will be incredible varied and some days will be spent working with clients, some in college learning with your peers and some spent with the team on activity days.

The role begins in the Management Accounts department where you will help to produce real time information abour your client's financial performance whilst studying your AAT Level 3 and Level 4. Typical tasks will include:

  • Weekly, monthly or quarterly bookkeeping for different clients

  • Processing transactions within applicable VAT guidelines

  • Preparing quarterly VAT return reports for submission to HMRC

  • Active management of client finance inboxes, liaising with external third parties to resolve queries

  • Attend monthly calls with clients to discuss their financial performance

  • Processing monthly payroll for your clients, following company guidelines and submission before the relevant deadlines

  • Being proactive with clients, responding quickly to queries and going the extra mile to help


  • Once you've completed Level 3 and Level 4 AAT (after approximately 3 years), your studies will move onto ACA to become a Chartered Accountant. You will move into the Accounts & Tax team where you will:
  • Prepare statutory year end accounts

  • Prepare company tax returns within tax guidelines

  • Prepare personal tax returns for a variety of clients, including UHNWI

    You will attend college through First Intuition in Maidstone for roughly 20% of the time to develop your technical knowledge. This will usually be one day per week, but will depend on the timetable for the course that the college offers. Study days provided by the college will be approved time off as part of your package

  • At the end of this apprenticeship, you will gain the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. You will then progress onto Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting, after which you will be a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians

  • Once your level 4 qualification is complete, you will progress to the ACA Chartered Accountancy Qualification. Once this qualification is complete, you will be an Associate Member of the Institute of Accountants in England and Wales, Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Initiative, Proactive, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 5) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 5) Essential
    GCSE or equivalent Science (Grade 5) Essential
    A Level or equivalent Any (Grade C) Essential
    A Level or equivalent Any (Grade C) Essential
    A Level or equivalent Numbers based (e.g. Maths, Science, Economics) (Grade C) Essential
