Chapter Lead - Cloud Platform Engineering

You'll have expert knowledge of SDLC tooling, of DevSecOps practices and agile work environments. Within your chapter, you'll be responsible for application ownership, lifecycle management, technology risk and technical debt management. You'll cover both hands-on engineering activities as well as evolving engineering capabilities across the organisation. You'll line manage, nurture, train, and coach engineers within your chapter.

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science is desirable or the equivalent work experience will also be considered.


• SME Level knowledge in all aspects of Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure) and Platform Engineering


• Infra As Code (ie Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Ansible etc)


• Kubernetes / Redhat OpenShift (including Service Mesh and Policy as Code)


• Cloud Landing zones, cloud networking and cloud security


• End to End Observability solutions (logging, monitoring, alerting)


• Knowledge of software engineering including automated testing frameworks, and security (SCA, SAST, DAST)


• Experience of supplier management including licensing and commercial negotiations


• Experience running and mentoring engineering teams and delivering complex solutions.


• Strong problem-solving skills including level 3 support and root cause analysis experience

As a Chapter Lead for Cloud Platform Engineering, you'll have expert knowledge in the technology and engineering best practices across Cloud providers and Platform Engineering disciplines. Using your knowledge, you'll assist engineers and other stakeholders with building solutions to ensure technical excellence is delivered. You'll set and define standards, guardrails, and best practices. You'll implement improvements to processes and tooling, and you'll ensure Chapter co-ordination across value streams so that solutions are developed and deployed in a consistent way. Additionally, the Chapter Lead will have a strong understanding of all operational requirements, and ensure Scalability, Resiliency, Observability, Security, Cost and Maintainability are at the forefront of all Chapter activities.
