Full Job Description

The International Relations Commission (IRC) is responsible for IYF's external relations and policy functions. The commission leads and supports the organization in cultivating, building and nurturing strategic relationships and alliances that are essential for advancing and successfully achieving the mission of the IYF.

The IRC Chair reports to the Secretary-General. He/She is a member of IYF's Executive Board and contributes to shaping and monitoring overall work of the commission and its divisions to contribute to the achievements of organizational priorities and achieve outcomes. He/she also responsible for supporting and oversee international partnerships, agreements and IYF's international cooperation. He/she to assist senior management in establishing, monitoring, coordinating, and overseeing international engagements by providing strategic and organizational leadership and coordination.

Responsibilities

(A) Delivery, management and oversight:

  • Participation in the IYF's highest-level corporate decision-making body, the Executive Board (EB), helping to identify and implement strategic directions for the Organization as a whole.


  • Oversee the work in the IYF/IRC Bureaus and centers, including Regional partnerships focal points and works collaboratively and collegiately across the IYF to achieve outcomes and results in line with IYF's Internal Strategy.


  • Guides, mentors and develops a team of senior officers at HQ and other representational levels.


  • (B) Advancing international cooperation and external relations:

  • Monitor international issues relating to the youth, and draft testimony, responses, comments and other research for submissions when required.


  • Liaise with key international agencies, federal governments and high-profile persons around supporting IYF's operations.


  • Provide advice to the IYF Senior Administration Team (SMT) on partnership policies and best practices in this field.


  • (C) Lead the development of strategic partnerships:

  • Develops, advises on and regularly updates IYF's corporate resource mobilization strategy and coordinates IYF's core and non-core resource mobilization efforts across HQ and regional Bureaux.


  • Co-chairing the IYF Partnerships Board (IYFPB).


  • Coordinates and updates organization-wide partnership strategy development.

  • Strategic development and planning

  • Strategic mentoring / coaching, Minimum of 3-Years of experience and results preferred in foreign/diplomacy role, development, communications, youth issues, sport, women empowerment, youth-led organizations or another relevant field.

    The IYF is a global youth network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to empower young people across the world., To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of "Empowering youth for a better world" in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions across member countries.

    1-3 hours / week or 3-7 hours / week Fully remote part time flexible position. Hours can be worked in the evenings and weekends.
