Full Job Description

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a team of staff in Keele University's Category Management Team as part of the centralised procurement service on a 12-month fixed term contract. The Category Management team undertakes procurement activity for a wide range of goods, services and works on behalf of the University., The role is to provide professional procurement support and advice to University Directorates and Schools. The Category Manager will undertake tender activity in allocated category areas ensuring compliance with UK Public Procurement Regulations, the University's Procurement Procedures, external funding requirements and framework structures as applicable. The role will assist the University to achieve value for money through the promotion of lowest total cost of ownership, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations governing procurement activity and assist the establishment and development of effective procurement strategies, processes and controls.

Applicants will need to be a full Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) and have relevant, recent experience of procurement within the higher education or wider public sector at a professional level in corporate category areas particularly Estates. This should include experience of running end to end procurement processes., Disability Confident
