We have an outstanding open position in our team as a Category Management Associate Buyer.

A bit about the job:
We need someone to support Aviva's core priorities of Customer, Growth, Efficiency and Sustainability by working across the Aviva Group to understand and translate business needs into commercial requirements, sourcing them from the market at the optimum commercial outcome, influencing significant annual spend
Our new colleague will develop a robust understanding of market dynamics for a range of categories of spend as well as gaining a detailed knowledge of Aviva's business strategies and will gain experience using and embedding best-in-class Procurement tools and systems.
You will be responsible for negotiating new and existing supplier contracts, including pricing and other commercial terms, to deliver savings and manage supply risks, you will conduct and present high-quality analysis on Aviva's supplier spend supplier performance, financial metrics, external supply market dynamics and technologies, using industry-leading tools and techniques.
You will also be responsible for building rapport and communicating optimally with a range of stakeholders across all levels of our business within the UK, Ireland and Canada, and will build beneficial relationships with our suppliers, from leading edge technology companies through to niche start-ups.

Are you someone who has general commercial knowledge with strong communication skills so that you can build relationships easily?,

  • Comfortable working within a demanding, fast evolving environment with strong prioritisation skills

  • Strong communication skills, comfortable working within a team environment, with the ability to build relationships

  • General commercial awareness, business skills and financial acumen

  • Ability to assess, manipulate and interpret data with solid IT Skills - knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Educated to degree level or working towards CIPS certification desirable
