Full Job Description

The role is to assist the Cycle Hire manager and wider ranger team in the running of Moors Valley's Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley areas.
Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out day to day operations at the Cycle Hire Centre & Adventure Valley.

  • Opening and closing of Cycle Hire Centre & Adventure Valley.

  • Checking of cycles and other equipment to ensure they are safe to hire

  • Keep all cycles, associated equipment and mobility aids clean

  • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks following appropriate training

  • Keep all areas of Cycle Centre clean and presentable

  • Hire cycles and other equipment to a high standard of customer care

  • Give instruction and information to visitors about bikes, equipment and cycle trails

  • Carry out cash handling and end of day cashing up procedures

  • Restock, price and sell items from the Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley shop.

  • Follow Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley procedures and work within Health and Safety guidelines

    The role requires working as part of the Moors Valley Ranger Team as a casual member of staff. We are looking for someone with strong customer service skills, working as part of a dynamic team in a busy environment. The roles requires the successful candidates to wear uniform representing Dorset Council and a willingness to work weekends, bank holidays and Dorset school holidays. The role will require the successful candidate to work unsupervised with the support of the wider Ranger Team. Training will be provided to all successful candidates upon appointment including work shadowing.
