Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to support our team in delivering high-quality custom stands and elements for exhibitions. The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry, a passion for events, and a desire to grow within the exhibition design industry.,

  • Collaborate with the Workshop Manager, in-house creative team, and Project Managers to construct exhibition stands, counters, plinths, and other elements

  • Work independently when required, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard

  • Build and finish stands on-site as needed

  • Assess and repair exhibition stock and counters

  • Manage material, consumables, and tool stocks in the warehouse

  • Provide advice to the creative team to ensure solutions align with project budgets

  • Supervise small teams of exhibition and staging crew on-site

  • Manage any changes or problems that arise on-site

  • Maintain a clean workshop environment, paying attention to dust levels

  • Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to update equipment, processes, and creative ideas

  • Act as the go-to person and manage day-to-day workshop operations


  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques

  • Assist in venue setup and breakdown as needed, Some work may involve travel and working on-site at exhibition venues

  • Physical demands including lifting and carrying heavy materials

  • Flexible Hours: The nature of event management may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate client needs and event schedules.

  • Fast-Paced Environment: The role operates in a dynamic and fast-paced event industry, requiring the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Collaborative Workspace: The employee will work closely with internal teams, clients, and vendors in a collaborative office environment.

    Education: Relevant carpentry qualifications or apprenticeship

  • Experience: Previous experience in the events or exhibition industry as a carpenter

  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and client-facing presentation skills, computer literacy, team player, enthusiastic with a 'Can do' attitude

  • Driver's license and ability to travel to office/central London out of hours, Attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Adaptability and flexibility
