Full Job Description

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for an exceptionally skilled and experienced carpenter to join our busy London, UK workshop. Ateliers London, 15 Gorst Road, NW10 6LA.

You must be experienced in creating high end luxury furniture frames, confident in working on contemporary furniture.

Candidate Responsibilities and Duties

  • In a usual week you will work on a range of soft furnishing & joinery projects. From sofas, armchairs, headboards to dining chairs and bar stools. Working with the production CAD drawings and 1:1 templates to craft frames with raw oak, beech & walnut.

  • Able to work to production deadlines

  • Must be able to read, understand and work to technical CAD drawings and specifications

  • Should be able to produce high quality work

  • Should have experience of all types of joinery machinery and hand tools

  • Should be flexible with working hours, some weekend work may be required

  • Select premium quality wood, veneers, and other materials necessary for the project.

  • Operate a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.

  • Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, and knobs, ensuring proper functionality and aesthetic alignment.

  • Collaborate with your Team Leader and the Production Team.

  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

  • Use the Production iPad APP to update your completed jobs.

  • Continuously refine and improve woodworking techniques to achieve higher levels of craftsmanship and efficiency.

    Proven experience as a carpenter specialising in luxury furniture and joinery, with a strong portfolio showcasing your craftsmanship.

  • Proficiency in woodworking techniques, joinery methods, and furniture construction principles.

  • Extensive knowledge of different wood species, veneers, and finishing materials.

  • Ability to interpret CAD drawings and specifications accurately.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail, with a focus on precision and quality.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients, designers, and other stakeholders.

  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Commitment to safety practices and protocols in the workshop.

  • Certification or formal training in carpentry or joinery is preferred but not required., Carpentry: 3 years (required)

    Atelier London Ltd is a luxury soft-furnishing & joinery manufacturer catering to leading interior designers and architects worldwide. Within our workshop we house a team of skilled departments specialising in carpentry, lacquer, joinery, upholstery, and fabric cutting and sewing.

    This is a full time and permanent position, and salary will be negotiable depending on experience.
