Full Job Description

CARETAKER

PART TIME, PERMANENT, ALL YEAR ROUND

15 HOURS PER WEEK (3.30pm - 6.30pm on weekdays during term time) (Hours to be agreed during school holiday closures)

GRADE 3, SCP3 - SCP4 (£9,218 - £9,371 per annum)

REQUIRED TO START AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Birches Head Academy is part of the Frank Field Education Trust and we work collaboratively with others in our FFET family, allowing our students and staff many opportunities to develop. This is embodied in the FFET vision: 'Social Justice through Excellence in Education' and in the Academy motto: 'Aspire to be More'.

Birches Head Academy is looking to appoint a part time, full year Caretaker to join our dedicated staff, supporting the Site Manager / Site Supervisor in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school, including maintenance/repair of the site, site security, cleaning of designated areas and porterage duties.

To be successful in this role you will be experienced in DIY/practical skills, in order to undertake general repairs and improvements, to ensure high standards are maintained. You should be flexible, proactive, able to use your initiative and prioritise your workload in order to maintain the building and site to the expected high standards. Experience of working in an educational environment, and a health and safety qualification, would be desirable, but is not essential.

All staff play a vital role in helping us to ensure our students receive a world-class education, thereby enabling each child to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to demonstrate their ability to champion the Academy's development and to be part of our exciting journey.

We welcome applications from all parts of our community as we aspire to have a staff body that matches the social and cultural diversity of our student intake.

Closing date for applications: Monday 3rd June, 9.30am

Interview date: TBC
