Full Job Description

As a Barclays Capital Markets Product Manager, you will be a key part of the Investment Services, Platforms & Product Management (ISP) team, responsible for delivering the changes required to industrialise the global Capital Markets & Structured Product Platforms. This is an opportunity to drive efficiencies, manage and strengthen the control environment, and enable scale to facilitate the commercial growth required to meet the business targets., At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?

  • Managing the pipeline of commercial projects and initiatives, overseeing them until their full completion and coordinating with the relevant stakeholders as required

  • Providing Subject Matter support, and being the main Capital Markets Products point of contact for key infrastructure partners including COO/Risk/Control/Legal/Compliance

  • Building/maintaining a solid network of contacts with our Infrastructure partners and working together to deliver change programs as identified and required by the business

  • Managing and strengthening the governance framework for the Global Capital Markets & Structured Products business and chairing/attending various Governance Forums

  • Overseeing local desk procedures, reviewing/improving product processes and controls, leading the response to incidents/risk events/internal and external audits

  • Managing/coordinating/overseeing the implementation of regulatory change requirements and acting as the primary contact for Legal/Risk/Compliance partners

  • Producing and analysing Management Information (MIs) related to the businesses (i.e. AUM, revenue, issuer exposure etc)

  • Accounting for the ongoing management of the platform, building appropriate network of internal and external partners (for vendor solutions such as Lexifi)

    Excellent track record of delivering both regulatory driven and commercial change in a complex environment - and with a high degree of independence

  • Outstanding social skills and ability to quickly form positive working relationships, and manage stakeholders across different business areas/geographical regions/levels of seniority

  • Organised and disciplined in approach, with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Outstanding written communication skills, and exceptional problem solving and analytical skills


  • Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Broad understanding of the end-to-end operational framework for Structured Products

  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment relating to Structured Products globally (Consumer Duty, MIFID II, PRIIPS etc in EU/UK, FINSA in Switzerland, as well as Singapore regs)

  • Previous experience in a Capital Markets/Structured Products within a Private Bank/Wealth Management environment
