Buyer / Co-ordinator

We have an exciting opportunity at our award-winning roofing company based in Harlow, Essex for a new Roofing Buyer / Co-ordinator! We are open to candidates from any background with no roofing experience required. Previous buyer experience is a nice to have.

Responsible for the smooth ordering of all materials, checking of invoices, and ensuring all required stock levels are up to date and negotiating prices. They are the go-to person when ordering any roofing materials and responsible for maintaining a minimum stock within the Contour yard. A key part to the role is ensuring plans are up-to-date to ensure they are clear when stock and materials is required.

Responsibilities

• To act as procurement for the construction team


• To manage all supplier accounts and procure all materials


• To manage daily material deliveries to multiple sites


• To play an active role in the procurement and management of subcontract packages


• To negotiate the best deals for the business within budget, arrange for the deliveries to suit the programme and keep records of supplier performance


• Provide quotes to the estimating team for tender enquiries


• Informing Construction and Contract Managers of upcoming deliveries of materials or any issues with lack of materials


• Ordering of pitched roofing tiles as soon as physically informed from the estimating team


• To ensure supplier and subcontract invoices match the orders and effectively deal with any disputes


• To ensure deliveries are scheduled and purchases are goods receipted


• To be responsible for the management of the Contour warehouse and stock levels


• To procure all stock for pitched roofing


• To think outside the box on procuring materials ensuring the best price


• To ensuring site plans are up-to-date


• To manage sales from the Merchant and eBay sides of the business


• To be proactive, helpful, and positive at all times


• To always conduct yourself in a professional manner


• To escalate any issues with to Directors as soon as possible
  
  Roofing experience is NOT required!


• This is an office on-site based role on site currently in Harlow, Essex.
