Business Intelligence Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a business that is not driven by profit but on providing excellent customer service. We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Team Leader who is passionate about data and understands the benefits of utilising data to move business processes forward. The role will involve leading and managing a Business Intelligence Team utilising Microsoft Azure Business Intelligence (expertise in SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Store and Power BI).

Working within the IT Applications and Reporting Department the successful candidate will:

• Lead a team of BI Developers responsible for delivering a range of Business Intelligence solutions to a variety of users across the business


• Gather, understand and interpret business requirements


• Influence and advise stakeholders, providing options and recommendations to support the decision-making process


• Ensure business users have the information and context to fully understand data, enabling critical decision making that supports delivery of the business plan


• Work with management to develop reporting, creating valuable MI that underpins business plan


• Develop ETL processes using Kimball methodology to translate data into business-friendly terms and populate the Data Warehouse


• Implement a report environment/semantic layer that can be understood and utilised by non-technical power users across the business by sourcing data from multiple complex systems and databases, both internal and external
  
  Extensive experience of delivering quality Business Intelligence within an industry best practice reporting environment


• Proven experience of managing and leading teams that deliver work to a high standard


• Experience of planning, managing and delivering a range of BI solutions


• Experience of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels


• Proficient in a wide range of industry-standard BI processes, technologies and architectures


• Ability to understand wider business needs and priorities and deliver effective Business Intelligence within a wider BI strategy


• Educated to graduate level or equivalent, with excellent verbal and written skills.
