Full Job Description

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our unique, friendly and fast growing team.

Role Purpose

The postholder's role is to identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and continue to help the company grow, while aligning with our core values.

You will be a part of the beginning of the process, guiding our marketing campaigns along with our sales and marketing team, growing our presence both in the community and through social media platforms and on the web, to building a rapport with clients from first point of contact, helping to assist with enquiries and technical questions, to aiding site surveys and organisational processes beyond till completion of the job and ensuring customer satisfaction and ensuring high standards are maintained at all times. This includes providing solutions to issues, evaluating and improving company processes in regards to the business, sales and marketing side of the business and ensuring all team members are assisted in working productively, effectively and efficiently.

This role requires extensive sales and marketing knowledge and experience and a proven ability to hit sales targets, bring in new business and sustain good business relationships, as well as good leadership skills, empathy and a supportive, encouraging and inspiring nature. The candidate will show proactivity in maintaining a growing customer base, while continually meeting and exceeding company goals and supporting our MD to maintain the high standards we have become known for.

Experience within the renewable energy sector is advantageous but not vital.

You will report directly to the managing director but take guidance and direction from the General manager and HR Manager.

Responsibilities

Main Duties

· Research and identify new business opportunities- including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships or new ways of reaching existing markets

· Collaboratively lead the sales and marketing team

· Generate leads and Meet with customers face to face and over the phone

· Understand the needs of our customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.

· Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.

· Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning and research in order to implement operational changes

· Have a good understanding of the businesses' products and services and be able to advise on them

· Ensure staff are on board with any changes and are not overwhelmed, recognising their role within the business and what is required of them.

· Train members of your team, arranging external training if required and mentoring those that need it

· Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing and sales department and be able to present them to the managing director with research to back them up

· Seek ways of improving the way the business operates

· Attend events where appropriate

· Keep abreast of trends and changes in the industry and anything that could affect it, positively or negatively.

· Plan sales campaigns with the marketing department and evaluate/present results

· Create a sales pipeline

· Increase sales for the business

· Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to the managing director

· Develop and execute the business sales and marketing strategy with the relevant team members,

· Provide relevant support for the sales executives

· Tenacity and drive to seek out new business and meet or exceed targets

· Excellent telephone manner for making initial contact and for ongoing communication with customers and business associates

· Written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills

· IT skills, including the use of spreadsheets
