Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint an experienced, proactive, approachable and enthusiastic Office Manager at Business Admin 5 (Grade 7), starting in July 2024 or sooner if possible. They will work alongside existing office staff in our busy yet supportive school office. The successful candidate will be a problem solver and dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for children in school. The successful candidate will have experience working in a school office and have detailed knowledge and understanding of school systems and practices, including SIMs and Finance 6 software. (Ideally, they will have used Arbor as a school management system).

They will work in conjunction with the Headteacher to manage the school budget, human resources and the day-to-day running of the administrative systems in school, including some responsibility for aspects of health and safety. More details about the post can be seen on the attached job description. This is a part time position (28 hours per week). The hours of working are Monday to Thursday 8.30am until 4pm with half an hour for lunch, for 39 weeks of the year. Alston Lane Catholic Primary School and Nursery is a single form entry school with a record of high standards and high expectations.

  • Business and administration qualification (NVQ and above) or similar and suitable to the post
