Building Surveyor

As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting and delivering renewals, re-letting, and minor capital investment works across our property portfolio. You will support external consultants in executing these tasks and provid e technical advice within the business,

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues in Asset, Lettings, Facilities, and Property Management to ensure seamless property maintenance, aiming to maximize commercial performance and minimize risk.


• Offer technical advice on issues related to asset maintenance, compliance, tenant alterations, and re-le tting works.


• Conduct asset condition inspections and help develop site-specific renewal and re-letting proposals.


• Assist in project managing renewal and re-letting works, working closely with internal teams and external consultants.


• Help develop scopes of work for projects and support the oversight of consultant designers.


• Support the procurement, instruction, and oversight of site works, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed on progress, and manage projects through to completion and hand-back within agreed time and cost.


• Provide regular updates and reports on project progress and performance. Assist in ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations by supporting roles such as Client, Designer, and Principal Designer, in line with company standards.


• 
  
  Experience in delivering maintenance and enhancement works on commercial properties.


• Educated to Degree level


• Assoc / Member RICS / CIOB or equivalent


• K nowledge of statutory and industry requirements for building and construction works

including the Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, Planning & Consents Processes

• Strong communication skills, collegiate and customer - focus s ed approach.


• Strong IT skills, specifically Excel & Word, and a working knowledge of MS Project


• Full Driving Licence


Desirable

• Experience in managing external consultants.


• Understanding of the commercial lettings environment and the role of a technical adviser.


• Familiarity with NBS or other specification packages.


• Experience working on heritage buildings.


• Client-side experience. Understanding of railway safety regime.
