Building supplies yard worker

This job requires the candidate to be flexible in their approach. We are a small, family run business based on a farm, who work together as a team. The ideal candidate will be an all rounder who is prepared to do a range of roles from recycling stone, loading lorries, cutting and preparing slate and oak, sales and taking orders from customers. Answering the phone, dealing with queries. This job is mostly outdoors and requires the candidate to be physically fit as lifting is part of the role. The ability to drive a forklift, teletruck, JCB is desirable but training can be given to the right candidate. The candidate must be willing to learn new skills as cutting and preparing of materiels is part of the job where full training will be given. This is a permanent role, and whilst Easter to October is our busy time of year, in the autumn / winter the candidate will be expected to adapt to repair work like fencing and needs to be practical with a can do attitude. We are looking for a permanent, full time member of staff who will work in the yard, must be physically fit, able to interact and deal with customers and be able to use simple computer programs for sales., business and all candidates must be able to pass an enhanced CRB check and due to the necessity of operating machinery random drug and alcohol tests will be performed. Answering to the director and yard manager, the candidate must be easy to get along with and have a high degree of health and safety awareness., Abilityto work outside in all weather conditions.

Must have a full driver's license

A good health and safety record
