Breakfast Waiter and Housekeeper / Cleaner

We are a 7-bedroom boutique Bed and Breakfast in the South Cliff area of Scarborough and are looking for a team member to join us for 15 - 20 hours per week worked in 3 or 4, 4-6 hour shifts each week. Shifts will start at 8am. The workload each week is slightly different, so we need someone who is flexible and available to work on any day - particularly weekends. We will give you a weeks' notice of the shifts required.

The position is available from June - October, you must be able to work the entire season.

You will be part of a small team, so reliability is essential. Every person plays a vital role.

On arrival at 8am, you will help set up the dining room for breakfast service and prepare some cold starters such as freshly cut fruit bowls. During breakfast service you will make tea/coffee & toast, take orders and serve meals to the tables. Making conversation with our guests is encouraged - a naturally confident and chatty person with good local knowledge will enjoy this!

Once breakfast is finished and everything is tidied away you will clean and service the bedrooms. However, each day will be different depending on the number of rooms checking in/out.

All rooms that are not checking out will need a service - replenishing tea trays, toiletries etc. Rooms that check out will need full cleans and linen changes.

Our standards are very high, and we expect thorough and efficient cleaning - but we do not rush and allow enough time for you to do this.

In addition, there will be cleaning of communal areas and resetting of the dining room.

We pay a competitive rate of pay (£11.50 per hour). In return, we ask for a strong work ethic, reliability and commitment.
