Full Job Description

  • Processing payments, invoices, and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing hard copies

  • Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure

  • Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances

  • Completing VAT returns

  • Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Head of Finance of errors

  • Recording any inconsistencies to help the Head of Finance reconcile inaccuracies

  • Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets

  • Helping the Head of Finance with administrative duties and preparing monthly / yearly accounts

  • External and internal stakeholder management and query resolution

  • Ad hoc projects and reports

    At least two year's experience working in an accounts/bookkeeping role

  • Good understanding and experience of using Xero accounting software

  • Self-motivated and highly organised with good attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Process driven, can effectively manage tasks, report progress, plan time and work to deadlines

  • Adaptable and happy to take on new challenges but recognise when to seek guidance

  • Can do attitude and willing to lend a hand with other teams when required

  • Experienced using Microsoft Office packages, able to use formulas in Excel

  • Excellent attention to detail, Accounting: 2 years (required)

  • The role reports into the Head of Finance and provides general accounts assistance to the growing team.

    · Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
