Full Job Description

The Trust offers two catheter labs; which on a daily basic perform Angiography, IVUS, Pressure wire studies, PCI (including rotablation, OCT and CTOs), Loop recorder, pacemaker, CRT-P, ICD and CRT-D implants. The non-invasive Cardiology Department undertakes ECG, Ambulatory monitoring, Echo, Physiologist led Exercise service, Device follow up (Brady pacemakers, loop recorders, CRT-P, ICD and CRT-D). Although this post is primary for Devices there may be scope to rotate through other areas within the department.

The Cardiology Department I very forward thinking with multi-skilled staff and a Physiologist led Loop Recorder implants and follow up service., Perform independent Cardiac Devices clinics, Pacemaker, ILR, ICD, CRT-P and CRT-D follow ups. Be able to work assisting these implants with in the Cardiac Catheter lab. Assist in Cardiac Angiography and PCI. Independently report holter monitors and perform physiologist led exercise tolerance testing.

You will have ASCST, BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent qualifications, IBHRE/HRUK in Devices and RCCP Registration. We will consider individuals who maybe working towards IBHRE/HRUK accreditation in Device but with proven significant experience, where this applies the post will be offered at Band 6 and upon successful accreditation the post holder will transfer to the Band 7 role.

As an experienced physiologist with IBHRE/HRUK Accreditation you will work with the cardiac physiology manager, other team leaders and the Cath Lab manager to ensure the highest quality, patient centred service..,

  • Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.
