Aviation Data Researcher

The continued growth in software clients coupled with an ongoing product development programme and ambition to grow the client base has lead to an opening for an Aviation Data Researcher role, employed within RDC's Operations. The successful applicant will conduct a range of research and analysis activities to support RDC's existing suite of products, as well as input on satisfying the data needs for new software products under development. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with internal colleagues and external clients to ensure the data held within the products and research provided to clients are free from errors., Research, collate and analyse a range of aviation data relevant for RDC's suit of products.

Primary tasks:

• Research, collate and database airport charges, government taxes, other tariff-related documentation and airspace navigation charges


• Support and resolve any incoming client queries with regards to AirportCharges


• Input into the creation of the monthly AirportCharges newsletter by identifying trends


• Collate and database airline and airport financial reports and other passenger related data on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis


• Maintain and update underlying reference tables across the suite of products


Other supporting tasks:

• Airline and aircraft fleet data, including configurations, noise certificates, engine types etc, from operators and independent sources


• Work with data sourced directly from manufacturers to produce aggregate and detailed datasets for all RDC products


• Input to administration tasks to support all products
  
  Essential


• Degree level education in a numerical/aviation field or similar


• Data researching experience


• Strong Excel skills


• High-level of mathematical ability


• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills


• Accuracy and attention to detail


• Great verbal and written communication skill


• Right to work in the United Kingdom


Even better if

• Experience of having worked in an airport/airline/aviation consultancy


• Experience of advanced analytics tools, such as PowerBI or Tablea


Nice to have

• Experience or interest in programming language such as SQL, Python or R

  Salary range £24-26k depending on experience
