Full Job Description

Our Portfolio Management team exists to build and manage the portfolio of the Commercial & Institutional Bank (CIB). This involves management of CIB products, growing our business through coordinated client propositions whilst improving client insight, digitisation, and innovation.

We ensure the efficient allocation of scarce resources (capital and liquidity) to enable the delivery of the CIB strategy. Our team s area of focus is delivering credit risk mitigation using a range of tools, maximising limits available and enabling additional business to be written.

This role is an outstanding opportunity to work with the Director on active portfolio management initiatives. These initiatives span the full CIB product suite, focusing on optimising the portfolio in terms recycling bank limits.

This role will enable you to:

  • Become a key part of the Portfolio Management team, working to manage and improve our credit risk mitigation tools on behalf of the Commercial Bank

  • Further exposure/upskill specifically in the use of Credit Risk Insurance and Credit Default Swaps

  • Work with colleagues across Coverage, Product, Credit, Finance and Treasury to deploy credit risk mitigation tools to enable deepening of relationships with clients while reducing the bank s risk and capital

  • Analyse data from across multiple sources to find opportunities to deploy active portfolio management solutions, showing what impact this would have from a limit, risk and capital perspective

  • Actively maintain relationships with both internal partners and external network, to provide opportunities for growth

  • Develop CIB's understanding of active portfolio management options, helping to bring these solutions to the forefront of credit and pricing conversations

Awareness of the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR)

  • Some exposure/experience with credit risk mitigation tools

  • Great communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to explain complicated concepts concisely and fully to less familiar audiences

  • An analytical mind / approach to work; able to analyse key themes using a wide range of datasets to help understand impacts on the business

  • Strong relationship management skills are required to build and maintain positive links with internal and external groups

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions by integrating and analysing sophisticated and diverse information sources

  • A good grasp of our products and services will be beneficial
