We are looking for an Associate (1-4 years' PQE) to join the National Professional Indemnity team and will be based in our London Office.

A consistent and ever-growing client base has led to a fantastic opportunity for a bright and ambitious litigator to join this recognised market-leading team within Clyde & Co's worldwide and highly regarded specialist professional indemnity practice group.

The Clyde and Co Professional Indemnity Team

Our global professional indemnity team has a long-established reputation for successfully defending negligence claims against professionals and handling the most complex coverage issues. We offer specialist advice on both high volume and high value claims.

Our clients include accountants, actuaries, architects, bankers, brokers, engineers, financial advisers, IT professional, media professionals, medical practitioners, lawyers, surveyors and valuers. We have specialist teams focusing on each of the major professions, including a number of partners who specialise solely in lawyers' or accountants' liability, and are regarded as market leaders in these sectors.

Our professional indemnity team has experience in complex regulatory investigations and litigation, particularly the problems presented by parallel proceedings. We are also experienced in relation to coverage issues including trigger points for cover.

The Role

We are seeking a candidate from between 1-4 years PQE to work on a varied workload covering professional negligence and coverage work, ideally not from a construction background based in our London office. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly respected Band 1 team and to gain exposure to some of the most challenging and interesting claims in this practice area.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a mixture of coverage and defence matters for a variety of professionals including solicitors, accountants, insurance brokers and financial advisers.

The role will involve:

  • Running a case load of files under the direct supervision of a partner or of a more senior lawyer.

  • Analysis of legal issues.

  • Drafting correspondence and reports to clients.

  • Communicating with clients effectively and complying with deadlines and clients' reporting requirements.

  • Capturing and recording management information.

  • Involvement in the team's business development activities.
