Full Job Description

An opportunitity has arisen within the Social Worker teams of Assessment and Intervention Team (AIT) for Assistant Team Manager. Wrexham Council supports hybrid and this will be available to successful candidates in negotiation with their manager whilst taking account of the needs of the service. Applicants must hold a Degree in Social Work or other equivalent qualification.

The role in either team involves the managing and supervision of a pod of social workers undertaking all aspects of care and support, child protection, section 47 enquiries and family support services, including court processes and public law outlines (PLO), to families who have been assessed as requiring services to meet the needs of vulnerable children.

The successful applicants will supported by an established team of permanent Team Managers and Heads of Service. Professional progression will be encouraged by provision of regular supervision and support to attend post qualifying and management training. You will be based in newly refurbished office accommodation in the town centre.
