Assistant Tea Room Manager

We are looking for an experienced full-time Assistant Tea Room Manager who will help with the day-to-day running of the tea room and will report to the Tea Room Manager.

It is a hands-on role and you will help to oversee, work in and be a part of the daily operation of the tea room - no two days will be the same! Responsibilities will be wide and varied so we're looking for someone with a passion for customer service, a personable approach, a flexible outlook, a willingness to muck in and the ability to turn their hand to a multitude of tasks.

As Assistant Manager, your duties will include:

- help with management of staff including rotas, time-sheets, holidays, staff discipline and disciplinary procedures
- ensuring all compliance paperwork is completed and filed correctly;
- cashing up and banking procedures
- help with management of costs.
- working in conjunction with Kitchen Manager to oversee management of fridges and freezers, purchasing, stock control and rotation.

However, this is not just a management role and you will need to be hands-on helping other staff with:

- front-of-house customer service
- keeping areas clean and sanitised
- undertaking and supervising the open-up and/or close-down cleaning of tea room and kitchen

You'll have several years' experience in a busy customer-facing environment, ideally from within the retail, hospitality or leisure environment. If you have food preparation and cooking experience that would be an added advantage.

Weekly shifts will include some weekends (day times only, no evenings)
- Core hours vary according to season but generally 8.00am to 6.00pm according to needs
- Training will be given in all specialist areas
- Salary will be according to age and experience
