Assistant Shop Manager

Reporting to the Sam's Place Shop Manager you will be expected to work with and oversee a team of volunteers to deliver the highest standards of customer service and maximise income to pay for the Samaritans' vital service.

You will be self-motivated, experienced in handling money, resilient, and ideally with previous retail and people management experience, as well as the necessary I.T. knowledge to operate the shop's Sales and IT systems.

What are we offering?

The shop is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 4.30pm, and we expect the Assistant Manager to be on site for 15 hours each week across 2 ½ days, to be agreed with the Shop Manager and in combination with the Shop Manager covering the crucial times and helping our volunteers run the shop.

The equivalent salary for 15 hours/week will be £8,923. This is based on the current National Living Wage rate of £11.44/hour.

You will be a kind, approachable, organised person capable of multi tasking. You will be experienced in shop work with either direct retail experience or work experience compatible with the delivery of the Assistant Shop Manager role.,

• GCSE or equivalent (preferred), Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)


• Supervising experience: 1 year (preferred)


• Customer service: 1 year (preferred)


• Retail management: 1 year (preferred)


• Management: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:
