Assistant Psychologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our neuro developmental service. We are expanding the service to include Intellectual disability assessments and are looking for an assistant psychologist to join us. The successful applicant will become part of a wonderful team that includes clinical psychologists, paediatrician, psychiatry, NMP, LD Nurse, educational psychology, assistant psychologists and speech and language therapy. The neuro developmental service provides assessment and diagnosis of Autism and AD/HD for children and young people 0-18 years. Further investment in the Neurodevelopmental service has enabled the developmental of this role which is predominantly supporting clinical psychology in the assessment of children and young people with an intellectual disability. Experience of working with children and young people would be an advantage., This role is to assist and support high-quality specialist neurodevelopmental assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team to children and young people (0-18 years) and their families and carers.

Assist in psychological assessment, utilising psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, structured observations including home and discreet school observations.

Carry out semi-structured interviews as part of the history taking procedure with the client, family members and other agencies involved with the service user.

Analyse the results of these assessments and develop an appropriate treatment package under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.

Provide this treatment package as appropriate.

Liaise with education, local authority and other partner agencies to gather information as part of an neurodevelopmental assessments.
