The Opportunity...

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

As an MEH Assistant Project Manager, you'll be supporting the delivery of all engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract at whatever phase, in accordance with the overall Project schedule.

  • Assisting the Project Manager in overseeing part of the Wrapping, Insulation, and Caulking (WIC) scope, ensuring passive protection for Mechanical Electrical and Classified HVAC packages and other equipment on the HPC project.

  • Building relationships with key stakeholders for the HPC project and especially our external supply chain partners across UK and internationally.

  • Liaising with key teams within NNB to support project delivery including interfacing with HPC Site team, ensuring pre-shipping activities are completed to facilitate seamless delivery and construction planning is completed.

  • Developing and implementing management systems to enhance project controls and quality, for example administering contracts, managing variations, claims, technical queries, and instructions using CEMAR during contract execution phases.

  • Supporting compliance with approved NNB procedures.

  • Project managing the delivery of necessary documents.

  • Maintaining an auditable archive of project decisions.

  • Supporting technical work streams to ensure completion on time and budget.

  • Strong people management skills, capable of building relationships and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary groups.

  • Logical thinker with excellent analytical skills, including budget analysis and forecasting.

  • Ability to perform well under pressure and within tight timeframes.

  • High attention to detail in individual work.

  • A degree or similar qualification in engineering, construction, or a related field is advantageous.
