Full Job Description

As P6 Assistant Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed and integrated project programmes using Primavera P6. Day to day responsibilities include:

  • To assist the planner in producing comprehensive and professional programmes and project controls materials for bids and projects in line with the required timescales

  • Ensure Baseline programmes are in place and accepted by the client to form the basis to capture change and demonstrate cause and effect

  • Ensure the project team is aware of and understands the programme, project drivers, key deliverable, critical and sub critical paths

  • Implement and maintain the requirements outlined in the business Planning Manual on Projects and Bids

  • Undertake any other related responsibilities as directed by the Senior / Principal Planner

  • Successfully fulfil planning roles on small/non-complex multidisciplinary contracts.

  • Support the planning function on medium to large multidisciplinary contracts.

  • Other tasks as may from time to time be deemed necessary and are authorised by line managers.

    To excel in this role, you will have previous experience in a site-based role with understanding and appreciation for construction activities, timescales, and project requirements in order to effectively build and update accurate programmes for live projects.

  • Civil engineering project experience

  • Rail experience

  • A strong understanding of Network Rail based contracts or NEC3/4 would be beneficial.
