Full Job Description

We are looking for someone who can work with our accounts system Sage 50 and manage the accounts processes on a day-to-day basis within the office. As a SBU we must report into HQ monthly and so it is vital our accounts are accurate and processed on time in line with internal procedures., PROCESSING OF DAY TO DAY ACCOUNTS - SALES AND PURCHASE LEDGER - BANK REC AND SUPPLIER PAYMENTS

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts - balance sheet, cashflow, full P&L


  • Month end procedures - posting journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany transactions


  • Input supplier invoices/credits, raise sales invoices and perform account reconciliations


  • Providing accurate and timely monthly reporting


  • Assisting in weekly payment run and performing bank reconciliations


  • Production of quarterly VAT returns along with VAT accounts reconciliation


  • Developing internal robust controls as the business grows


  • Supporting the Head of Finance and the wider team with internal audit and any ad-hoc financial projects


  • Liaising with external accountants and other stakeholders


  • Liaising with Senior Managers/Directors throughout the business

    The candidate must have experience with a purchase order system and have a good knowledge of Sage 50, which we want to get more use from. The role will be full time 9-5. Part time hours can be offered mid month If required., Minimum AAT Qualified


  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines


  • Strong communication skills to liaise with senior stakeholders


  • At least 5 years experience within a similar role.


  • Proven track record as an individual who is able to deliver effectively and on time.


  • Proven experience of managing of multiple tasks simultaneously from start to finish.


  • Required experience:
  • Accounting: 5 years

  • Must have 5 years of Sage experience, A-Level or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • accounting: 3 years (preferred)

  • Sage 50: 3 years (required)
