Full Job Description

1. To assist in the delivery of the rugby union coaching programme to support all senior squad players at Kent University.

2. To excel in your area of responsibility and deliver engaging, fun and challenging coaching sessions

3. To assist and drive the creation of a performance culture within KURFC to ensure that high performance standards in rugby union are maintained and improved through the ongoing development, delivery and monitoring of all players and teams.

4. To create an effective learning environment with the aim to engage and motivate players On and Off the field. As well as upholding and developing the established KURFC ethos.

5. To carry out any other tasks or duties commensurate with the level of this post to maintain the good name and profile of rugby union at Kent University.

6. Support any rugby development activities that will help to engage and sustain the rugby at university.

Kent University RFC is a rugby club of University of Kent Students Union with the 1XV competing in BUCS South Eastern Tier 1 and the 2XV competing in Mens South Eastern 4 - the club has around 50 registered players. The Club is seeking an outstanding Assistant coach to compliment and deliver coaching of the rugby performance squad (men's). The position will be based at the Sports Centre at Parkwood and will play an integral role in ensuring player and team development. You will be required to adopt a flexible approach to work, be able to work as part of a team and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the aim to engage and motivate students.,

  • Level 2 Rugby Union Coach or equivalent certification (required)

  • Level 3 Rugby Union Coach or equivalent certification (preferred)

    Salary: £12.50-20/hour depending on experience - agreed fee for required home and away fixtures


  • Term: Part Time, hours agree with committee/Head Coach

    Start Date: September 2024

    Main Purpose of Role:

    To assist in the organisation, delivery and ongoing development of performance rugby union training for Kent University Rugby Football Club whilst also playing a key role in enhancing the university's reputation for rugby union.,
