Full Job Description

  • Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship

  • Practical assessment

  • Professional discussion, Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Physical fitness, Eye for detail, Listening skills, GCSE or equivalent Maths & English (Grade A- C / 9 - 4) Essential, Good communication skills, ability to work as part of a team with a key focus on health & safety. Apprenticeship Assessment and Information Session: Any new person applying for apprenticeship roles where Abingdon and Witney College deliver the training will be required to attend an Apprenticeship Assessment and Information Session at Witney or Abingdon campus. This will consist of a series of initial assessments (required prior to any apprenticeship offer), completion of essential paperwork, the opportunity to find out more about the apprenticeship process, the training included, and a forum for your questions. You will have unlimited access to the substantial experience and resources of our Cryogenic, Vacuum Pipeline Systems (SIVL), Industrial Cryogenics and Precision Machined and Fabricated Components divisions.

    The role covers a wide range of common and job-specific skill sets that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering industry sectors during apprentices' future careers. Dependent on the sector

  • that they are employed in, there may be subtle differences in terms of composition and application of the job role specific skills and knowledge they will require, however the core skills and knowledge will be the same regardless of the sector/area they work in.

    Duration
  • 13 months practical training period, plus 3 months for End Point Assessment

  • Day release during term time (approximately 3 days a week for 1 year)

  • Approximately 12 on-site assessment visits per year

  • Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths and English (7 days at college for each, if required)

The Wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training., You could reduce your training time, or finish your apprenticeship faster, if you have relevant prior learning or experience.
