Full Job Description

Activities that you could be involved in include:

  • Lectures

  • Workshops

  • Seminars

  • Recruitment activities

  • Business as usual and personal computing, social media and other IT/digital based activity


  • The AT will ensure school resources are functioning appropriately, and will either fix or report problems as appropriate:
  • Simulation suite rooms

  • Media Suite

  • Esports lounge/lab

  • VR headsets

  • Broadcast equipment (inc cameras, lights, production equipment)


  • The AT will help arrange and supervise Bodyswaps virtual reality sessions, tasks to include:
  • Headset maintenance and development of expert use knowledge

  • Session administration and facilitation


  • The AT will help Events officers set up and manage technical equipment during:
  • Open days and other recruitment events (including off-campus Tech Truck and other activities)

  • Special lectures

  • School activities


  • The training you will be getting

    Through the training provider, CSR Scientific Training, you will undertake a Level 3 Education Technician Apprenticeship which will include:
  • Fully recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 3 Education Technician

  • On-the-job competency training

  • IOSH Working Safely qualification

The Apprentice Technician (AT) will assist the Tech Lead and technical team members in all activities relating to the use of technology in school activities including VR, Esports and Media Studio., Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Presentation skills, Administrative skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience, Physical fitness, GCSE or equivalent 3 more subjects (Grade (Grade C/4 or above)) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade (Grade C/4 or above)) Essential
    GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade (Grade C/4 or above)) Essential
