Full Job Description

This is an exciting time to join SWB NHS Trust as we open our brand new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. In this role you will distribute equipment and stock to operating theatres, wards and departments. You will use computerised systems to record, and locate stock and ensure storage areas are kept clean and tidy., During the apprenticeship training programme you will work towards achieving the requirements of the personal specification. The off the job training will be provided in house; all training will be within working hours., On completion of the apprenticeship programme and meeting the necessary work standard, this role will continue to be paid NHS Agenda for Change Band 2.

  • Delivery of clean sterile trays to Theatre areas.

  • Collection of dirty sterile trays for return to outsourced provider.

  • Booking in of equipment to ensure effective tray management.

  • Record and manage missing trays and discrepancies.

  • Checking of incoming deliveries to ensure compliance.

  • Close working with Theatre areas to ensure appropriate stock management.

  • Apprenticeship entry requirements: Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 1 English and Maths and to have taken level 2 English and Maths tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship. Please ensure you include all your qualifications on your application form - if not included you may not be shortlisted. Before applying for an apprenticeship, you must have the Right to Work in the UK for the duration of your apprenticeship and have lived in the UK/EEA for the past 3 years (exemptions apply). You will be asked to provide proof if your application is successful.
